Product Information
The OME Nitrocharger Sport is an evolution of the classic OME Nitrocharger. It is a low-pressure gas shock absorber, but it operates with three working valves instead of two. The working piston now contains a rebound and a compression valve, similar to those used in monotube shock absorbers. The base valve, as an additional compression valve, is retained. This allows the OME Nitrocharger Sport a broader tuning range and better responsiveness for increased driving comfort and improved safety reserves.
The Nitrocharger Sport series was introduced in 2006, with the "Sport" designation not indicating sporty stiffness, but merely serving to distinguish it from the "old" Nitrocharger. The Nitrocharger Sport has replaced the Nitrocharger in most applications and is used in all new developments whenever possible.
The Nitrocharger Sport was also specially developed for the requirements in the 4x4 sector and can be extended by up to 50 mm where possible. This allows it to be used with both series springs and OME lift springs, with few exceptions.
Here are the facts at a glance:
- 35 mm working piston with integrated, multi-stage friction-reducing Teflon seal
- Extra strong, hard chrome-plated 18 mm piston rod
- Unique 3-lip sealing ring with check valve and generous piston rod guide for excellent upper sealing
- Multi-stage compression valve at the bottom of the working cylinder for optimized, progressive response and driving behavior
- Stainless polyamide stone chip protection for the piston rod, if space permits
- Durable polyurethane or rubber bushings; for struts, either the original parts or OME replacement parts can be used at the upper end.
