The company delta4x4 has been the specialist for “body lift kits” (BLK) in Europe for more than three decades. A body lift is a heightening in which the body is detached from the load-bearing ladder frame of the vehicle and the chassis is lifted using spacer blocks is raised higher. The steering column, tank connection, brake and fuel lines and other components may be lengthened. Depending on the vehicle model, it may also be necessary to move the bumpers. All vehicle-specific parts for the lift are included in the kits.
With this method of lifting, the complete axle geometry of the vehicle is retained compared to a "suspension distance kit". The articulation angles on the drive shafts, cardan shafts and axle components are not changed.
The main advantage of a BLK is the ability to install larger tires. Larger tires in turn allow a higher fording depth and larger approach angles to be driven, thereby improving off-road mobility. There is no increased wear on the drive. The noise generated by narrower articulation angles on the drive shafts is also not changed.
